Workshops & Pitch Sessions (CLOSED 8/31)
If you register at the $125 or $200 level, you'll be able to sign up for one online translation workshop and two pitch sessions.
Workshops
These 90-minute workshops will be limited to small groups of 6-8 translators, and they are designed to help you develop your translation skills by providing feedback on a section of your work. These workshops will be led by award-winning translators including Susan Bernofsky, Daniel Hahn, Deborah Smith, Katrine Øgaard Jensen, Bill Johnston, and Katherine Hedeen. Once you’ve signed up for the workshop of your choice, you’ll share a brief text in your translation with your workshop leader and the other participants.
Pitch Sessions
Pitch sessions are 5-minute meetings with editors of translation presses and journals, where you can pitch a book (for presses) or short translation (for journals) for consideration for publication. Participating presses and journals include And Other Stories, New Directions, The Common, Tilted Axis Press, Transit Books, Two Lines Press, Ugly Duckling Presse, Veliz Books, Words Without Borders, and World Editions.
More Information
Registration includes admission to the full conference, including live events during the conference weekend and all programming leading up to it. All presenters, including readers accepted to the Annual Alexis Levitin Bilingual Reading Series, must register for the conference. In the case of authors reading short excerpts along with the translator in a bilingual reading, registration for the author is waived. If authors would like to participate in other conference events, they will need to register. Authors presenting as part of an accepted session are required to register for the conference.
All conference registrations must be purchased online with a credit or debit card. We do not accept checks or cash. Please also note that registration is non-refundable.
